PoliceReports.US - Online Accident Distribution
In order to better serve the public, the San Luis Police Department has implemented a new online process for the public to obtain copies of accident reports by employing cutting edge-technology provided by PoliceReports.US, LLC. Citizens and insurance companies can now access reports via the internet, eliminating the need to travel to the police department or request a report by mail. However, those who wish to visit the police department will still be able to request reports from the San Luis Police Department's Records Division.
Beginning Monday, December 6, 2010, accidents dated August 1, 2010 or after, can be accessed online at www.cityofsanluis.org by clicking on "Departments", "Police" and then on "Accident Reports Online". You may also go directly to http://sanluispd.policereports.us.
To search for a report, users will have to enter the accident report number. The user can then print the selected accident report directly into their printer. Should a person require a report prior to August 1, 2010, they can still retrieve it electronically by calling the Records Division to have the report uploaded.
Electronic distribution of accident reports via the web will allow the police department to be more efficient while providing a higher level of customer service. The charge for accident reports online is $7.00. Payments online can be made by major credit or debit card. The non-injury and injury accidents will be available online typically within ten days of the accident. Some reports may not be available online if the accident is a fatality or possible fatality accident report.
Please contact the San Luis Police Records Division at 928-341-2460 for more information or if you are unable to locate the accident online. Records hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
