San Luis Police Department’s Chief of Police, Arturo Ramos, will take his oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 during the scheduled Regular City Council Meeting. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 1090 E. Union Street.
Chief Arturo Ramos brings more than 32 years of law enforcement experience, and is not a stranger to our community; he started his law enforcement career with our neighboring City of Somerton, as a Somerton Police Officer back in 1978. He retired from the Phoenix Police Department as Police Detective after a distinguished career. He came to San Luis as Police Commander on December 2011 where he held that post until December 1, 2012 when he assumed his duties as Chief of Police.
Mayor Gerardo Sanchez, along with the Elected Officials, officers and staff from the San Luis Police Department and community leaders are also expected to be on hand for the event.
